Book Review: Charmcaster by Sebastien De Castell

Man, oh man, was this a book I was looking forward to so I was stoked when I was able to get an early copy of this through ReadersFirst.

Charmcaster is the third book in the Spellslinger series and as good as you expect it to be? It’s actually even better than that. This time it focuses on what happens when Kellen, Reichis, and Ferius stumble into an old friend before heading into a city of invention to find a mechanical bird and destroy an obsidian worm.

Okay, so what can I say about this book. I kind of just…sped through it took everything in and now I’m at a loss for words. The problem with these books, which isn’t actually a problem, is that they do the same things over and over. Just better. They’re always so funny but then you’ll get an emotional scene that hits you hard and you kinda tear up a little. It’s just…wow. The fight scenes and world-building are all just so amazing.

I loved Reichis and Ferius anyway but this book just made me love them even more.  He’s such a troublemaker but you know he cares really. And Ferius, I love how much of a mother she is to Ferius in her own way. She’s trying so hard and I just want to hug her. Well, hug her and find her a girlfriend.

This book was so good and I need the next one like now.
