Romance Releases I’m Excited for This Autumn/Winter

While other people are getting ready for the spooky season, I’ve already been reading a lot of thrillers. So I’m kind of in the mood to read more chick-lit and romance. I’m sure there will be plenty of new chick-lit out, but the majority of the books I’ve found for this post are romance novels. I’m always in the mood for a fun romantic story, no matter the time of year.

So these are books I’m excited about.

On A Night Like This – Lindsey Kelk (out 11th November)

The only chick-lit novel on this list, Lindsey Kelk is one of my favourite authors. I’ve already preordered this book, and I’m so damn excited to get to it. This is supposed to be a Christmas rom-com, so I probably won’t actually read it until December.

The day after Fran wishes to change her life, she finds a new job as an acting assistant for a celebrity and winds up on a yacht to an Italian island. One day she runs into a handsome American man, and as spectacular as her time with him is, she knows they only have one night together.

This book is going to be amazing. I just know it. Lindsey Kelk’s chick-lit is always so much fun. I love her characters, the romance and everything about these stories. I don’t really know what else I can say. I’m such a massive fan of Lindsey Kelk and have been for years. Even without knowing much about this book, I just know that it’s going to be one of the best books I’ve read this year. I tried for an ARC but wasn’t lucky enough to get one. So I’ll just have to wait, sigh.

So We Meet Again – Suzanne Park (out 16th September)

I’ve read one Suzanne Park before, but I did really enjoy it. I’m always drawn to books about the use of social media and influencers. So the moment I heard about this one, I knew that I had to get my hands on it. I haven’t pre-ordered this one, which means I don’t know when I’ll be able to get a copy. But damn, I hope it’s soon.

Jessie Kim is laid off in a virtual meeting then accidentally hears the misogynistic and racist reasons why. After leaving with an eff you, she returns home to Tennessee. One day in an Asian grocery store, she runs into her childhood nemesis Daniel, whose law career seems to be going so well. But he agrees to help her try to bring her Korean cooking Youtube account back to life, and she discovers his life isn’t as good as she thought. Until he arrives at an important meeting and their rivalry is back on.

Does that not sound so good? Youtube, Korean food and a rivals to friends to rivals to lovers romance…I’m so hyped. This book sounds like it could be pretty emotional but so much fun, and ahhh, I need it.

A Lot Like Adiós – Alexis Daria (out 14th October)

I enjoyed You Had Me At Hola a lot more than I thought I would. I got it as a mystery book from Words and Kisses and didn’t really expect much. But it was fun, and I’m excited to see where this series goes next. I know each of the books in the series is going to feature the Primas of Power, so I’m hoping we’ll get to see Jasmine and Ashton too. Even if we don’t, I’m very curious about this couple. I’m just not sure which I’ll like more.

This one follows Jasmine’s cousin Michelle and is a second-chance romance with childhood best friend, Gabriel. It’s been 13 years since they last saw each other when Michelle is brought in to work as the graphic designer for a campaign for Gabe’s new celebrity gym.

I’m not really sure what to expect from this book. I did enjoy the first one, but they aren’t something I’d usually think that I would enjoy. Daria writes characters I want to love, and I’m looking forward to meeting more of them. Childhood friends to lovers is always a lot of fun, so I’m pretty certain that this is going to be really sweet and very emotional too

Well Matched – Jen Deluca (out 21st October)

This is the second book on this list that I’ve preordered. And god damn, I need it now. After reading the first two books in this trilogy, I’ve fallen completely in love with Deluca’s writing. This trilogy is sweet and fun and everything that I want in a romance series. It’s slightly nerdy with the Ren Faire dynamics, but there’s plenty of humour and romance.

In this final novel, we follow April, her daughter is about to leave home, and she wants to get out of Willow Creek. She asks her sort-of friend Mitch to help with repairs, and he agrees. Provided she agrees to be his fake girlfriend for a family dinner. One night turns into a weekend, but that’s all it should be? Right.

When the Ren Faire comes back to town and Mitch’s family visits? April has to pretend to be his girlfriend again, and things start to get more serious.

I love fake dating so much. It’s one of the best tropes out there, especially when there’s plenty of banter. We’ve already seen that from April and Mitch, she’s eager to put him in his place after all. I’ve loved every book in this trilogy so far, but I feel like this one might well be my favourite.

That’s all for this list. There are no queer books, sadly. Because the majority of queer books I read are genre fiction. But I’d love to read more queer rom-coms, so if you know any, shoot me a rec.
