God, I should’ve done this earlier in the year. Steph started her Final Book Support Group, and that would’ve been a perfect time. But alas. I’ve decided to leave it until October/November to finally get through all those final books I need to read.
Ahhhhh.
So why am I talking about this? Sometimes it helps encourage you to get yourself into gear and do these things yourself. So use this as your sign that if you have a good few series you need to finish off? Now might be the time.
I’m usually good with reading series promptly. But this year has not been my time. I’ve still been completing series. I’ve actually gone back and reread a bunch of books so I can finally finish off some older series I’ve always meant to get to. So it’s not like I’ve been doing bad on the series front.
But the newer series I’ve been reading? Yeah, they’ve been suffering.
So now I’m finally going to get to them. I’ve made a massive TBR pile with all these books. There are a few general series continuations on here as well, and I’ve thrown some romance books in between these as well, to have some balance. I’m actually going to try to audiobook a lot of these just for the sake of actually getting through them a bit quicker. Though the first book on the pile isn’t going too well even with audio…welp.
So these are the books I need to get to:
- A Psalm of Storms and Silence – Roseanne A. Brown
- Broken Web – Lori M. Lee
- Homicide and Halo-Halo – Mia P. Manansala
- Earth’s End – Elise Kova
- The Merciless Ones – Namina Forna
- Our Violent Ends – Chloe Gong
- The Winner’s Kiss – Marie Rutkoski
- The Blood Traitor – Lynette Noni
As you can see, there’s a lot of YA fantasy on here. I’ve not been reading as much of it this year. Not due to a lack of interest, but just because it’s not what I’ve been prioritising as much. I think it’ll be fun to get back into it for sure!
Do you have many books that you’d like to get to before the end of the year? Let me know down below!
I’ve also been trying to finish up series this year. Sounds like you have a good plan to get through them.
