I’m doing a Top Ten Tuesday two weeks in a row! Bookish tags are great when you’re low on ideas but still feel excited to talk about books. When I saw what the theme for this week was while writing up last week, I knew I had to do this too. I love reading books with great heroines, so I’m excited to list some of my favourites for you all!
The Top Ten Tuesday tag was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now held over on The Artsy Reader Girl. It’s a weekly tag where everyone is given a bookish prompt for bloggers to curate a top ten list. You can then share your blog post on The Artsy Reader Girl’s post for that week. Just make sure you check out and comment on other people’s blog posts too!
As usual, I’ll just be posting a list. I’ll name the character and the book. I love each of these ladies for different reasons, so obviously, check out their books.
- Yelena Zaltana (The Chronicles of Ixia – Maria V. Snyder)
- Opal Cowan (The Chronicles of Ixia – Maria V. Snyder)
- Jaime Vegas (Women of the Otherworld – Kelley Armstrong)
- Mare Barrow (Red Queen – Victoria Aveyard)
- Bea Tanaka (Heroine’s Journey – Sarah Kuhn)
- Tella Dragna (Legendary – Stephanie Garber)
- Rosalind Lang (Foul Lady Fortune – Chloe Gong)
- Laia of Serra (An Ember in the Ashes – Sabaa Tahir)
- Alice (A Blade so Black – L.L McKinney)
- Alyssa Farshot (Crownchasers – Rebecca Coffindaffer)
There are some truly amazing books and series on this list, so I highly recommend checking them out!
Who are some of your favourite heroines? Do you agree with any of mine? Let me know in the comments!
I haven’t read any of these books yet, but you have piqued my curiosity about them. 🙂

Shallan from The Stormlight Archives is one of my favorites. I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned but if they have strong female characters I’m sold!

I haven’t read any of these books, so I’m not familiar with these characters. I’m glad you’ve found so many great heroines to love!
Happy TTT!
