Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Heroines

Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Heroines

I’m doing a Top Ten Tuesday two weeks in a row! Bookish tags are great when you’re low on ideas but still feel excited to talk about books. When I saw what the theme for this week was while writing up last week, I knew I had to do this too. I love reading books with great heroines, so I’m excited to list some of my favourites for you all!

The Top Ten Tuesday tag was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now held over on The Artsy Reader Girl. It’s a weekly tag where everyone is given a bookish prompt for bloggers to curate a top ten list. You can then share your blog post on The Artsy Reader Girl’s post for that week. Just make sure you check out and comment on other people’s blog posts too!

Top Ten Tuesday: Valentines Day

Top Ten Tuesday: Valentines Day

Valentine’s Day is here! It’s not a holiday I feel particularly excited about, but I don’t dread it either. For many of us, it’s just another day. But as someone who loves to read about romance, I couldn’t let this opportunity to list some of my favourite chick-lit and romance books go to waste! With the holiday, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie to list anything we like regarding books and love.

Try A Chapter Tag – Popular Romance Edition

Try A Chapter Tag – Popular Romance Edition

Doing a Try a Chapter challenge every now and then is a great way to narrow down your TBR. You’ll either get excited about the books you have to read, or at least you’ll realise they aren’t for you. I wanted to do another one but needed to figure out what theme to follow.

Then I noticed that I’ve been buying more romance books.

So, why not try the first chapters of a few popular ones I own?

The results of this challenge surprised me. So let’s get into the books!

Spotify Wrapped Book Tag 2022!

Spotify Wrapped Book Tag 2022!

2022 is almost over and we’ve had our Spotify Wrapped playlists! This is always a lot of fun, even when you do have a good idea of what you’re gonna get, ha! My playlists have started to change this year so it certainly has made this tag a little more difficult for me.

The idea of this challenge is to put your 2022 playlist on shuffle, and for the first five songs, you need to pick a book you read in 2022 that fits that song. It doesn’t have to be a perfect fit. You just have to explain why you chose that book for that song. Obviously, you will not have a book match for every song, so you can skip if you need to. But the idea is that you at least need to try, even if it is embarrassing. This was a lot of fun last year, and I’m excited to be doing it again. I hope you all will too!

If you want more examples or are just curious, you can find the original post here and the 2021 one too. And if you do this yourself, make sure you tag me somewhere so I can see!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Fall 2022 To-Read List

Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Fall 2022 To-Read List

I thought I’d take advantage of this Top Ten Tuesday as I wanted to post a spooky or autumn TBR post sometime soon anyway! I’m not much of a seasonal reader but over the last year I’ve picked up a few good horror, thriller and mystery novels and I want to get to them. I thought this season would be a great opportunity to finally do so.

Top Ten Tuesday: Hilarious Book Titles

Top Ten Tuesday: Hilarious Book Titles

You might have noticed that posts from me recently have been a little sporadic again. A book slump combined with working has slowed me down a little, but I’m working on it. Fortunately, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday tickled my fancy haha!

This week we’re to share ten hilarious book titles. I haven’t read all these books, but they are all scattered across my house. Some belong to my sister, some to me. Honestly, I probably could’ve just gone through a list of light novels for this one. They have some ridiculous titles. Some of these might not be laugh-out-loud funny, but they do make me grin whenever I see them. I’m just going to list the titles this time as for some of them, that’s literally all I know. But the titles are random enough that if you’re curious, you should easily be able to give them a search. So let’s do this!

Critical Role Campaign 3 Book Tag

Critical Role Campaign 3 Book Tag

I’m back today with another book tag! I actually quite like coming up with these, and it’s fun to see other people do them. So I thought I’d pull another one together for a break between the many reviews I’m posting!

I’ve talked about roleplay a few times before, but DnD and tabletop gaming isn’t something I’ve tried yet. But I enjoyed the podcast Spellcheck DnD enough that I’ve tried checking out some other groups playing it. Critical Role is one of the biggest of these fandoms, if not the biggest. I’d always struggled to get into their games in the past until I got to campaign 3 and Bells Hells. Something about this group and their story has grabbed me, and now I’m more than a little obsessed.

With today’s tag, I’m going to be listing all the members so far of the chaotic Hells Bells and giving you prompts relating to them!

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Merchandise I’d Love To Own

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Merchandise I’d Love To Own

I wasn’t necessarily planning on doing another one of these posts for a while, but when I saw the prompt, I couldn’t resist. So, this won’t be a traditional Top Ten Tuesday post for me. If I wanted to, I could just list fandoms I want to see merch for or types of merch I’d love to see more of. I could even scour the internet and find specific items.

But I wanted to do something more fun.

I’m going to mention a few specific types of merch I’d like to see for particular fandoms. I can’t make them myself, but who knows? Maybe this will spark some of your imaginations.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books With An Adjective In The Title

Top Ten Tuesday: Books With An Adjective In The Title

We’re here with another Top Ten Tuesday! My posting schedule this week is a bit of a mess, so I thought, why not write another one of these posts? It’s a lot of fun to go through my bookshelves to find ten books that I want to list. This time I won’t go into detail about the books, as the theme for the week is just talking about book titles!

For those of you who don’t remember your English classes from school, an adjective is a describing word. These come in many forms, and they can definitely add colour to a book title. Or make them something people make fun of. Both work.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Enjoyed, but Have Never Mentioned On My Blog

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Enjoyed, but Have Never Mentioned On My Blog

I couldn’t resist doing a tag where I talk about some of my slightly more obscure favourite books. Admittedly, I have included a few more well-known titles too, as I haven’t spoken about them before This was a pretty fun list to pull together, and I obviously highly recommend all these books. So if any of them grab your interest – let me know! I’d be happy to see others read them.
