If you know me at all, then you know that I absolutely adore Kelley Armstrong. I’m doing a reread of her Women of the Otherworld books currently. And I keep an eye out for her new releases. This is one I had my eye on and had preordered. But seeing that audiobook available to request on NetGalley?
Well, I obviously had to request it. And I got it! I was so excited that I could start this book straight away. It took me no time at all to get through, and I can’t recommend it more.
This is the start of a new series where some people have magic in their family lines. These are specific forms of magic, thought to go back to groups of mystical people from the Ancient Greeks etc. Kennedy Bennett is a curse weaver with an antique shop. When a man walks in one day asking to hire her for a job, she doesn’t realise he’s asking for more than he’s saying. Aiden Connolly is a luck worker, and he needs a curse weaver to help him win and remove the curse from an important necklace. But he’s not the only one looking for a curse weaver, so when Kennedy’s sisters are in danger. She has to team up with him to find them.

I can’t believe we’re already into May! If this were a safer year where things were open, I’d probably be hoping to go to the London MCM Comic Con, whatever it’s called. I miss being able to go look at artists stalls and go buy all the anime and game merch, sigh. But that does mean that I should have plenty of time to read!
That aside, I will be once again trying to keep this mini TBR, well, mini. Just so it isn’t hellishly difficult to write. I’ve got five books to go through with you all this month, so let’s get started!

Yeah, it’s that time of the month again. But this time I thought I’d try something a little different. We’re onto the fourth book on the series and the second book with Paige Winterbourne as the protagonist.
As I’ve said previously, we have a discord for this readalong. It’s pretty quiet, but there are channels for each of the books. This means you can catch up, and still easily have a place to discuss the books. It’s a long series so we’re going to be at this for a while. There’s also places to just chat generally as we should all make friends as we read together!

I’m going to start this post off by saying if any of these series do pop up on your social media feeds or whatever a lot, they don’t mine. And I clearly need to be following the same people as you. But I tried to make sure that I suggest series that I adored when I read them, but I have never really seen anyone talk about them. So there won’t be the usual series that you see people claim are underrated…

Ahhh, the third month of my readalong book club. Even with so few people, it’s been a lot of fun so far. I’d love to see more of you guys join. So if you love adult urban fantasy, if you’re looking for a completed series with plenty of romance that you can really sink your teeth into? Why not join us? We’re now on discord, so we have separate channels to talk about each of the books, which gives you plenty of time to catch up with us and then still have somewhere to chat about what you just read!

This was a post a long time in the planning. I was originally going to write it, last summer, I think? And I’ve since started my re-reads of some of these series. But I was thinking of content that I wanted to create, and this was one that still stuck in my mind. So, here we go.
These are all series that I read the first books of a few years ago now. Time has gone on and I’ve always meant to pick up the next books and read on. Only, it’s now reached a point where I can’t really remember what happened in the first book. so I need to re-read that before I can even think about moving on.
It’s a common book-lovers problem, but I’m not usually someone who re-reads before reading the latest instalment in a series. I’ve got too many books to be able to do that. But these are books where I can’t move on yet. One of them I got the second book recently thinking it would be fine, I went to start it and was completely lost. Yeah. That was no fun. So, there’s six series here and where I stand currently, I recommend them all.

Yes, I know we’re a few days into the month now. Okay, more than a few, but it’s still plenty of time to join in our reading club! We’ve now moved onto Discord where we have separate channels for each of the books so that means you can catch up and discuss each book even if you join us late. If you’re interested then let me know down below and I’ll find somewhere to privately send you to the join link!
