I can’t believe we’re already into May! If this were a safer year where things were open, I’d probably be hoping to go to the London MCM Comic Con, whatever it’s called. I miss being able to go look at artists stalls and go buy all the anime and game merch, sigh. But that does mean that I should have plenty of time to read!
That aside, I will be once again trying to keep this mini TBR, well, mini. Just so it isn’t hellishly difficult to write. I’ve got five books to go through with you all this month, so let’s get started!

I know this post is a little later than usual. Things have been a little chaotic at my end. And my brain has been a little bit of a mess too. If I’m honest, I only just realised this post was going to be late. But that’s fine, it’s my blog, so I can do what I like. Plus, it’ll still be up at the beginning of the month, so, y’know.
This is probably going to be a little shorter than my mini TBR’s usually are because, well, my reading hasn’t been going great. Where I usually wind up starting on my mini TBR books before the month actually begins – oops – this month, I still have three books on my current TBR. So, for once I should be only reading these books during the month. And since they’re not exactly tiny books, I want to be able to actually get through them all.
I also won’t be listing any ARCs this month. I do have a few to read including a manga book. But since none of them are published in April. And focusing on ARCs so much has exhausted me a little. I’m taking a break for at least the first half of the month. I’m gonna focus on reading books I’ve bought for a bit, but I should hopefully be getting some reviews up for those too. I will have a Manga ARC review coming up sometime soon, but I don’t include manga on my TBR.
So without further ado: my mini TBR!

Part of me has been dreading writing this post. Not because I don’t want to share my TBR with y’all. But because even a mini TBR this month is going to be a long one. And I’m a little scared of having to write about all these books.
So, I’ve decided to write just one or two sentences each about all of these books. And if you’re curious for more, you can always check them out on retail sites. There will be links below! If I like writing the post up this way then I’ll be doing so from now own. Let me knows what you guys think of the shorter summaries!

Sharing a mini TBR last month was a lot of fun, and I can happily tell you that I have completed it! Admittedly, I did wind up reading Blood and Honey in December after writing the January post. But, I still read the book, so I’m totally counting it. One of the books was also a DNF, which was a shame, but I’m not mad about it. There are too many good books out there to force myself to finish one I’m not enjoying. I also didn’t quite complete the very large pile my mini TBR was chosen from. It was so close though! I only have like two books left on it, but I threw in some ARCs and some library books and it all adds up to extra reading.
But I completed my mini TBR, and I want to celebrate that!
And by celebrate, I mean, let me share my mini TBR for February.
What? Don’t pretend you didn’t know what the celebration was going to be. This time I’m going to list the ARCs I plan on reading this month as well. There’s always a chance I’ll pick a few more of these up, but I have banned myself from requesting on NetGalley for a bit, so, hopefully not XD.

Big books scare me. There. I said it. I don’t like picking up big books as I’m worried they’ll take me a while to get through and I prefer reading things quickly. Unfortunately, there are some big books out there that look good, and I do still plan to read them. They just intimidate the hell out of me.
And that’s not the only thing about certain books that intimidates me. It’s just the main reason. So I just wanted to do a quick post talking about some of these books. Hopefully, you guys can tell me how amazing they are and make me want to pick them up sooner!

This was a post a long time in the planning. I was originally going to write it, last summer, I think? And I’ve since started my re-reads of some of these series. But I was thinking of content that I wanted to create, and this was one that still stuck in my mind. So, here we go.
These are all series that I read the first books of a few years ago now. Time has gone on and I’ve always meant to pick up the next books and read on. Only, it’s now reached a point where I can’t really remember what happened in the first book. so I need to re-read that before I can even think about moving on.
It’s a common book-lovers problem, but I’m not usually someone who re-reads before reading the latest instalment in a series. I’ve got too many books to be able to do that. But these are books where I can’t move on yet. One of them I got the second book recently thinking it would be fine, I went to start it and was completely lost. Yeah. That was no fun. So, there’s six series here and where I stand currently, I recommend them all.

I’m pretty sure that’s how it feels most of the time.
Like we’ll never get through every book we own. And that’s both a relief and also a nightmare because imagine all the stories we could miss because we have so many other stories and- Yeah, I’m gonna stop there and not drop us all into an existential crisis. That happens enough when I’m trying to sleep.

So, I’ve decided to start doing monthly TBR posts! Not a full TBR, I don’t like picking out a certain number of books each month. I always wind up getting through the books too quickly then having to throw a few more on. I prefer making them as I get through the current pile. But I wanted to be sharing what I’m reading with you guys this year.
So every month I’ll list a few books from my next – or current – pile that I know I should be getting through in that month as well as any books I plan to read for book clubs, review etc.
This first post was hard as my next pile has 15 books on so it’s probably going to be following me into February too. So these books are all from near the top of the pile, but, as I said before, isn’t them all.

If you’re anything like me then over lockdown you bought a lot of books and since being able to go back into shops and libraries it’s just getting worse. Whether you’ve got physical books, e-books or audio books; sometimes looking at everything you’ve got to read can be a bit much.
At least it is for me.
So I’ve been trying a few strategies to help me feel a little calmer and I’m hoping they might help you all too!

This TBR game is a continuation of the ideal ending from #1. This means this month is a little shorter as a continuation but next month’s will be a brand new story.
The video for this will be up on my Youtube Channel on 26th August so please come and watch me play it! If you want to have a go at this yourself then do so and let me know how it goes!
